The 1901 England Census

The British Government took the 1901 Census on March 31 1901. The records were released in January 2002 under the '100 year' rule. These were the first census records to be fully computerised, albeit retrospectively, but an overwhelming demand delayed internet access until the last quarter of that year.

As the decades passed more and more information was required. Two new columns in this census were whether a person was an employer, a worker or working on his/her own account and whether he or she was working from home. Rather than alter the format, in this domain that information is below the occupation [in brackets].
